JISC e-textbook debate: revolution or evolution?

22nd April, 2008

As part of project and the JISC’s Libraries of Future programme we held a ‘question time’ style event with publishers, e-books aggregators and librarians. The reason behind the event was to allow publishers and librarians to openly discuss the challenges they face in delivering e-textbooks through the library. The surprising part of the debate was that actually there was mostly agreement from the panel! The panel discussed the critical issue of funding, the role of the author, the demise of the traditional textbook and standards.

If you missed the debate fear not! you can listen to the audio or visit the live blog that has all the text and leave your comments.
